Our philosophy

OUR PHILOSOPHY | Most home cinemas use passive speakers, with multichannel amplifiers in a rack powering all of them.
Goldmund puts the amplification inside the speaker instead. It has built powered speakers with digital filtering since 2003. Its active speakers use amplifiers based on its Telos technology, with an amplifier for each driver.
Digital signal processing, which it calculates for each speaker’s own drivers, replaces the usual crossover. Part of that processing is Leonardo time correction, which is in every speaker it currently makes. It fixes the timing and phase errors that crossover filters introduce.
Room correction is a separate step. Goldmund’s Proteus HT modeling maps each home theatre from the room’s geometry, and Goldmund engineers do the final calibration and setup.
We work with architects and interior designers as well as homeowners, and we fit speaker placement and calibration to each room. Once it’s calibrated, we hear higher fidelity than a conventional system delivers. That’s why we choose Goldmund for cinema audio.
