Stereophile has named the Luxman L-100 Centennial its Joint Amplification Component of the Year for 2026, a title it shares.
What Stereophile heard
The L-100 made Stereophile's October 2026 cover under the line "Best Solid State Luxman Amp Ever?" Ken Micallef answered the question in his review. "Whatever the genre, the L-100 lent music aliveness and speed, a sense that the music was present and palpable in the room," he wrote. "The L-100 seemed to float images into the room, not simply between the speakers."
His verdict was short: "It's the best Luxman I've heard." The review closes plainly: "It comes very highly recommended."
Built with care
The L-100 Centennial is a pure Class A integrated amplifier, rated at 20 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 40 into 4 ohms. Each one is built by hand in Japan.
On the test bench, Stereophile's Dylan Wahl found it "meets its class-A power ratings, with class-AB margin more than 3× higher." The built-in phono stage impressed him too. His summary: "a product designed with care in every technical aspect."
Three more finalist nods
The L-100 isn't the only product from Rhythm's makers on Stereophile's lists this year. The Marten Mingus Septet Statement Edition is a finalist for both Loudspeaker of the Year and Overall Product of the Year. In his review, Jim Austin called its sound "rich, full, detailed, with no hint of brightness," and wrote that he had "just heard some of the best sound I've heard in my listening room, or even elsewhere, as in, top two or three."
Luxman's E-07 Phono Amplifier is a finalist for Analog Source Component of the Year. Herb Reichert called it "an heirloom-quality product that should please the most discriminating phonophiles."
