What Hi-Fi? has reviewed the Goldmund Telos 690 and calls it “one of the finest integrated amplifiers we've heard,” adding that its “clean, precise and ever-so-detailed sound is a joy.” The amplifier earned five stars for sound and build.

The reviewers started with Mahler's Symphony No. 8, a dense piece that tests any system's composure. The Telos 690 took it on “laying it out in front of the listener without confusion or blurring.” They found it tonally neutral, rendering instruments “with an unforced naturalness and fluidity that's rare to hear, even in amplification at this level.”

Then they played Beyoncé, Barrington Levy and the Rolling Stones. “It turns out that the Telos 690 can dance too,” they wrote, describing it “thumping out the lows with unerring grip and punch.”

Inside its 12mm aluminium panels, the Telos 690 delivers 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms. What Hi-Fi? found it fussy about support and recommended a very solid, high-mass surface to hear it at its best. What Hi-Fi? tested it at $36,250 at the time of the review. The verdict on that price? “If we had the budget we wouldn't hesitate to pay it.”

We chose the Telos 690 to power Tannoy speakers at AXPONA (Audio Expo North America) and Audio Advice Live in 2024, and it truly impressed! A well-known industry veteran remarked, “I've never heard Tannoy sound this good.” We couldn't agree more.
