To mark its 100th anniversary, Luxman has built a new flagship disc player: the D-100 Centennial SACD (Super Audio CD)/CD (Compact Disc) player and DAC (digital-to-analog converter). It's a significant evolution in flagship disc-player performance.
As the successor to the highly regarded D-10X, the D-100 Centennial is a complete overhaul of the disc drive, the digital circuitry and the analog stages. It's built for listeners who demand the highest level of musical expression.
What's new
The D-100 is the first disc player to use Luxman's renewed LIFES (Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System). Version 1.1 improves error-detection precision through a parallelized input stage, for a more vibrant and natural sound.
Luxman's own LxDTM-i transport ("Luxman original Disc Transport Mechanism - improved") is now integrated directly with the main chassis for extreme rigidity, on a new 8mm-thick aluminum base plate that further isolates it from vibration.
The digital stage uses ROHM's latest BD34302EKV "MUS-IC" DAC chips in a dual-mono configuration, supporting PCM (pulse-code modulation) up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD (Direct Stream Digital) up to 22.5MHz through its USB (Universal Serial Bus) input.
And you can see what you're playing: the new high-definition OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display is about 70% larger than the D-10X's, with a 4x zoom mode and a four-step dimmer.

Built like a centennial piece
The D-100 is finished in Luxman's signature Blaster White with an exclusive glossy chrome "CENTENNIAL" nameplate. Underneath, a CI-core transformer and 40,000µF filter capacitors keep it stable, Luxman's own high-rigidity RCA terminals and shielded XLR connectors carry the signal out, and heavy cast-iron, density-gradient insulator legs hold it all still.
The D-100 Centennial is designed to reveal the very atmosphere of the performance.
