We are thrilled to announce that six core Luxman products have been honored with The Absolute Sound's 2027 Editors' Choice Awards, in the magazine's November 2027 issue.

While The Absolute Sound (TAS) dedicates its March issue to dedicated listening rooms, the November issue specifically highlights products for shared spaces, such as living rooms and open-plan homes.

Why shared spaces matter

Most of us don't have a dedicated listening room. The music system lives where we live, so it has to look right and be easy to use as well as sound good. Luxman's classic tactile design, iconic VU (volume unit) meters included, looks at home in a living room. Integrated amplifiers with built-in phono stages, and disc players with reference DACs (digital-to-analog converters), cut down the number of boxes without cutting into the sound. And Luxman's LECUA (Luxman Electronically Controlled Ultimate Attenuator) volume control keeps tonal balance and detail intact even during late-night listening, when the rest of the house is asleep.

The six winners

Luxman L-505Z integrated amplifier. The entry into Luxman's Z-Series, with the LIFES 1.0 (Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System) amplification engine and LECUA attenuator. An ideal single-chassis heart for a living room system.

Luxman L-507Z integrated amplifier. Reference Class AB power, delivering pure, dynamic sound with exquisite low-level detail. It's the right drive for high-end floorstanding speakers in larger main rooms.

Luxman D-07X SACD/CD player and DAC. Disc playback and a digital streaming source in one box. Dual ROHM DACs handle the conversion, and the high-resolution USB (Universal Serial Bus) input takes PCM (pulse-code modulation) up to 768kHz and DSD (Direct Stream Digital) up to 22.4MHz. Discs spin on Luxman's LxDTM-i transport. (SACD is Super Audio CD; CD is Compact Disc.)

Luxman PD-151 MkII turntable. High-precision analog playback with a minimalist, clean look that blends easily into living areas.

Luxman PD-191A flagship turntable. Benchmark analog performance, with an ultra-stable belt-drive motor and a custom tonearm, for reference living-room systems.

Luxman LMC-5 MC phono cartridge. Luxman's premium MC (moving coil) cartridge, with a Shibata stylus and a precision-machined aluminum body.

Picture an L-505Z or L-507Z with a PD-151 MkII or D-07X in a living room: a single elegant stack in place of a wall of gear.

Luxman began in Osaka in 1925 and is based today in Yokohama. Explore Luxman at Rhythm and find a Rhythm dealer to hear these award winners.
